FZ6_Rider FWIW - I just purchased the solid Blaster 2.0 in blue/white from New Enough. For the money, it's tough to beat. The only difference is the 3.0 has fabric panels that go along your side and under the arms that zips off to reveal a mesh panel for ventilation, and your get CE rated armor. If CE armor is what your after, the 3.0 has it. For me, the extra cost was tough to justify - since I can just about get a perf. Blaster 2.0 or a new JR Phoenix 4.0 (with CE armor) with the money saved over buying the new version of the Blaster. Plus - I'm not a big fan of large panels that zip off.

Just my $0.02 -- YMMV

Jaxx Im thinking of picking up the solid leather Joe Rocket Blaster 2.0 at New Enough for $179. At that price you can't beat it. Anyone know the differences between the Blasters? 2.0-3.0-4.0 etc?

Maichena I have a textile/mesh Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket. It fits me nicely. I've worn it on 40F rides with wind chill close to freezing and it has kept my body warm. Ample body armor that is removeable and replaceable. It also comes with a small backpack that slips in between the inner mesh lining and the outer textile. Very useful when I want to carry stuff like the balaclava, glove liners, etc.

The neat thing is that it has 3 layers: an outer textile layer, mesh layer and wind resistant liner. So, essentially, this jacket can be worn all year round. In Spring and Fall, I'll wear the textile and mesh layer. In Summer, it'll be just the mesh layer. In Winter, all 3 layers.

My 2 cents
