I really liked my CL-SP except that I ordered it too small. I wore it for 18 months anyway and still use it at work.

I have the CL-Max now and like it too. HJC is very under rated I think.

I really liked my AC12, but the shape of my head kept me from using it any longer than I did. Otherwise I'd still have it.

For those folks who rode New Years Day, the polar bear pins finally made it here. About damn time. Stop by the shop if you want to pick yours up.

They travel in the time of the prophets
On a desert highway straight to the heart of the sun
Like lovers and hereos, and the restless part of everyone
We're only at home when we're on the run

depends tj?
40 has more knock down power. seems that 9mm might be more accurate and a little cheaper to shoot.

i guess 9mm then. i plan to shoot for recreation, not really protection. If it has to go to protection then it does, but the main purpose is to knock over targets. Which has the best balance between performance and price: S&W, taurus, rugar, glock or springfield. Im look at this S&W brushed stainless sigma for $329.

If your not worried about protection get a .22 pistol. You can get a brick of 500 .22 rounds for $20 when a box of 100 rounds of 9mm cost about the same or just a bit more.

I agree. I enjoy plinking and picked up a Walther P22 for cheap and I shoot Remington Golden .22 in the 550 round brick for $10.99 from Walmart. Can't beat it for cheap fun.

I have fired a Sigma in .40. Not a fan of it by any means. I have fired a Glock 21 in .45 and yes the Glock was $200 more, it was a world of difference. The Sigma felt cheap and the trigger was crap. It has around a 12lbs trigger pull compared to the 5lbs of a Glock. My brother-in-law is the one who has the Sigma, and he hasn't had any reliability issues, but he also hasn't used it much. However, if you do decide you want to give the Sigma a try, shop around and keep an eye out, I see them go for $249 a lot on Bud's Gun Shop.

I don't have a whole lot of experience, but I have been soaking up all the knowledge and information I can for awhile about them, so I would recommend a xD or Glock before the Sigma. I think you'd be much much happier.

The .22 for recreational shooting is great though. My wife and I go shoot my .22 rifle at the range quite often and it costs hardly anything.

I loved my ac12 as well. I had a cl15 before that and I picked up the ac12 on clearance. No comparison between the two. Unfortunately I got crash test the ac12. It held up admirably. Didn't knock anything loose that wasn't already.

I replaced it with an fs15 and I freaking love that helmet. Very comfy.
