Yup, me too

It isn't something that gets advertised though. We don't want the Po Po hanging out in our stomping grounds.

The best way to learn where they are is to go out riding with those that know them.

I live in Canton and the best place around here I can find is Hines Park Dr. I have taken it from Northville to Dearborn and then hop on the M-10 S where Hines Park runs in to Ford rd to I-94 W to I-275 N and get off at Ford rd several times. It does go through so questionable areas but most of it is good. It gives me good twisties out and then highway back.

I am also originally from the Westside (30 miles West of G-rap, Holland/Zeeland) and anything along the lakeshore is pretty good. I know from Holland to Grand Haven on Lakeshore Drive is good. And South from Saugatuk to South Haven.

Im sure that doesn't help much but those are my two picks for the areas that I am familiar with.

There are a number of posts on this very subject! I even posted a few. I'd be happy to show ya around! We're gonna hit a lot of roads in MI this year, you guys should join, you're all more than welcome! Take care, Mike

Some pretty decent roads up here in NW lower MI.
******************************************************

M-119 or the "Tunnel of Trees" is pretty cool, but it can get busy. Probably the closest thing to the Dragon around here. (not that it's that good, the bar has to be set much lower for MI)

A favorite stretch of mine with decent pavement and very little traffic is M-32 between US-131 and East Jordan. Lots of other (backroads) in Antrim County as well.

M-22 has some pretty good parts as well. Mostly in good shape, some nice turns, and great scenery. It starts just north of Manistee and follows the shoreline up and around Lelanau County and into Traverse City. (TC to Suttons Bay is similar to freeway slab)

...that would be 110 to M22 all the way past sleeping bear dunes, all the way up into northport if you're so inclined.
32 from gaylord west to east jordan, or 32 from gaylord east, the farther north you go the more frequently better and less patrolled the roads become. As far as the hellhole we're living in down here, say from port huron take 136 west, and maybe hit bell river road, but the, ahem, unmentioned loop that some have uspoken about is the closest you'll get to anything worth riding unless you're willing to endure the treck up I75 a few hours. Some great riding around (northwest of) tawas, not to mention getting to tawas by way of pinconning, via state road near the saganing eagles landing casino northwest, and the ride from Au gres to tawas is very nice, but certainly not knee dragging. Tons of roads in the U.P, but you're talking about 5 hours just getting to the bridge. my advice is to check out southeast ohio, anything heading out of marietta is better than any riding michigan has to offer, period. 3 1/2 hours of riding south into ohio and the roads just keep getting better, and better, and better, and better.
