???

There's something I can't figure out. I see alot of HDs cruising the interstate @ 77mph but when I check the specs on a 1200 I find a top speed of about 115mph at the redline. My baby (SV650) has a top speed of about 135mph & a 75mph cruising rpm at approx. 6K while the HD cruises at <3k.

Here's my question : Doesn't it seem that the HD1200 is using more of its hp to highway cruise than my SV650? Since both the SV & the HD cruise 75mph at about 50% of their redline aren't they both equal highway capable?

Gearing and redline rpm are the answers to your question.
