I wouldn't put a whole lot of miles without getting that first valve adjustment done. I did a valve lash on my CBR 929 at 13k and it turned out that only 3 of the valves ended up being out of spec. Once the initial valve lash is done, it probably wont have to be done for a good while, as long as there remains good lubrication qualities. But as far as riding for another few thousand miles, it probably wont do much, especially if there is no audible noises coming from the head.

This thought is all I have to trust upon, when light is gone.

The words between the lines, The worst of the best, The dust on the pews, Nihil!

Leave dependence to drones. Lies to the harvest for the truth to be sown.

Pain, necessary to know.

Are u just asssuming you need them done or did you actually spec them out.

Most bikes at 16k actually dont need them the valves are in spec. check it and find out.
