Columbia, SC

I recently applied for a position in Charlotte, NC with the compnay I work for but haven't heard anything on it yet. I was looking thru the job postings some more and saw a new position posted in Columbia, SC.
Just wondering if there's anyone here from (or knows anything about) the area that can give me some info on it as to what the area is like and whatnot.

Can ya tell I want outta NJ

Today I met a man, I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today. I Wish that he would go away.

I am originally from SC, just about an hour northeast of Columbia. It's a smaller city but is pretty nice. Like most places...some good areas, some poorer areas. Big lake there, so lots of water activities. Good bar scene since USC is downtown. Lots of southern history (good or bad depending on your philosphy). Only about 2 hours to Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Greenville (mountains), 3 to ATL.

It is growing like crazy there so there are lots of new houses, malls, etc.

Weather is hot... 90s in the summer, mostly mild in the winter (30s-50s).

Cost of living is fairly reasonable.
