if you think your tps is on the way out and your code does not appear ,for your local yamaha dealer to warrent a claim,i know this is a bit of a cheat but if you run the bike then diconnect the wires to the tps you will get the code up sound like a good idea if your bike is nearly out of warranty mmm just a thought

Oh, boy. I can just imagine. If everyone did it, there's gonna be a friggin' frenzy at Yamaha! They won't really know what the real problem is.

Whoa.. recall mine even when it doesn't have a problem? I hope not.
A little restraint is necessary here.

Only do it if your TPS is actually acting up!!

why not, they sold us POS tps sensors. I did mine two weeks before the 1 year was up. After $6K I don't think i owe them another $250 16 months or so after I bought the bike. Sorry but my$.02.

Maybe the fear that they might screw something else up trying to fix something that really didn't need fixing is making me think otherwise about it. I might feel differently if I actually had the TPS problem.
