Sizing
on the helmet seems to run maybe on the snugger
side of the fitting scale and it fit my round
oval head perfect. The interior (which is fully
removable) feels very nice on your skin and is
also nice and firm without being uncomfortable
and the shield is easily removed and put back
on by a simple to use sliding latch.
While I was wearing it on my first ride I noticed
that the peripheral vision from the helmet was
awesome. It really lets you get an unobstructed
view out of the helmet enabling you to get a
good look through the corner. The venting was
also top notch keeping my small size noggin
nice and cool on a hot Florida afternoon. Again,
I come back to the weight or lack of weight
from the helmet with it being so light and comfy
it allows you to really concentrate on your
riding.

| Cons |
There
were only two things I didn’t care for.
The helmet bag could be nicer and the cheek pads
are held in place by VERY sticky velcro which
makes getting them back in place a little hard
because they want to stick to the plush liner. |

Summary |
Shopping
for a high end helmet these days can be very confusing
and frustrating.
There are a lot of helmets to choose from and
I have seen first hand the frustration in searching
for a premium lid.
I made a call To Intersport Fashions West (The
importers for Vemar) and asked
to get some info on the new Vemar VSR professional
racing helmet. They did more than that, they
supplied me one to review.
I was real excited when it arrived at my door,
and when I pulled it out of the box I almost
fell over by how light it was. It was still
in the helmet bag and for a second I thought
maybe they sent me just the shell because it
was so light. After pulling the helmet out of
the bag and seeing that yes, there was a complete
helmet in there I couldn’t wait to go
for a spin.
The Graphics on the VSR GP1 I received were
beautiful. The bright colors and perfect clearcoat
were better than I expected.
The shell is a Tricom construction (carbon/dyneema/fiberglass)
and is Dot and Ece-2205 approved (The highest
European safety rating and required for Motogp)
and is available in two shell sizes XXS-Med
and Lg-XL.
If you are looking for a premium helmet that
is very comfortable, lightweight with top notch
graphics, fit & finish that rivals any helmet
out there then I am highly recommending getting
to your local dealer or contacting Intersport
Fashions West.
