We've all seen the Gravity Games and seen the Street Luge guys and the leathers they wear, right? well if not take a look at the name on the suits, a fair amount of then will say NJK. Who you ask? NJK is a man named Kelcey Gordon who is a saftey nut. He is a former Speedway racer who started in the business by making his own as well as some of his buddies suits. He's been at it since 1985 and is still going strong.
Now he is offering Jackets with the same eye towards safety that many who have worn his racesuits in the past and present already know.
I started this adventure last summer in a quest for a new custom racesuit. I had my pick of leather makers in SoCal to work with and chose Kelsey as he is abit fanatical about his product and safety, but while there I saw he had a rack of jackets and inquired about them. In the end he provided the two jackets that you see here.
Everyone who rides in hot weather wants a jacket that they feel safe in. Enter the Textile Ghost. The features alone put it in a class with jackets that cost more. These are CE Foam covered hard armor and a CE Foam back protector.
I rode this jacket in temps from the mid 50s to the low 100s. With a sweatshirt I was comfortable in the lower temps and without I didnt overheat in the warmer ones. The fit is decent with the lack of waist cinches allowing abit of air in the sides but the longer back helps.
I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a quality summer jacket that wont compromise your feeling of safety.
