Forget about trying to reach up to the instrument panel to operate the lap timer. Now you can operate it with the start switch just like the 2006 R-1 models do! This easy to install kit comes with everything you need and can be installed by even the most novice of individuals. Install time is less than a half an hour and can be done with the tools that came with your bike! No cutting wires, splicing or soldering required. A small special wire harness with a built in rectifier plugs into the factory harness for a clean professional installation. Detailed step by step instructions with color photos guide you through the installation process and has a users guide and helpful hints section. This kit is perfect for the track day to monitor your progress without spending hundreds of dollars on a stand alone laptimer. With this kit, you simply touch the start button at the same point on the track each lap (usually the start/finish line for accuracy) and the time freezes on the display until you have time to glance down at it, while the internal timer starts counting your second lap. Hit the button again at the line and the timer displays your second lap's time until you press it again for your third lap and so on. Finally you can actually use the factory lap timer! Even if you don't attend track days regularly, its nice to know that the factory lap timer can actually be used without reaching up to the display.
