2006 GSX-R600
MSRP: $8,799.00
Dealer Cost: $
It started at racetracks far from Suzuki's Hamamatsu, Japan headquarters. A group of dedicated Suzuki engineers on an overseas fact-finding mission wandered through paddocks and spectator parking lots, looking at motorcycles and watching races.
The racers at these events didn't have factory contracts, and were not paid to race. They came because they loved the competition, the sport, and they rode motorcycles they bought themselves.
The race classes were defined by engine size, rider skill level and allowable modifications. The grids for 1000cc machines were packed with GSX-R1000s. The grids for 750cc machines featured row after row of GSX-R750s. But the 600cc grids were no longer completely filled with GSX-R600s. After years of trying, the middleweight competition had finally caught up, again.
The engineers worked stopwatches, talked to riders and mechanics, filled notebooks with observations and comments. They compared what they had seen at these regional races to what was happening in the World Superbike and AMA and other national Superbike series, and with the results from endurance series in Europe and the U.S.
By the time they returned to Japan, the engineers had a clear plan: Take everything Suzuki has learned from building and racing the dominating GSX-R1000 and use it to again leapfrog the would-be 600cc competition.
Apply the cutting-edge technology inherent in Genuine Suzuki Engineering, and build a new middleweight machine that defines the concept, The Top Performer.
In other words, produce a racer replica that delivers "the outstanding power-to-weight ratio, powerband and throttle response". A sportbike that also establishes the 600cc state-of-the-art in terms of throttle response, suspension performance, braking power. A motorcycle with the type of overall handling that inspires rider confidence and leads to quicker lap times. A machine infused with lessons from the racetrack.
Build the 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600.
And Own The Racetrack. Again.

I love it!! This bike has great power. It is a little hard to keep it down on the corners . It wants to stand up and go straight. I find it likes to stay down only when cornering fast. The bike is very stable throughout all the gears and seems to get more stable the faster you go. You don't have to worry about the front end coming up off the ground when you don't want it to unless your running in first or second at 10k rpm and up. around there, the front end will creep up on ya but its manageable. i am very pleased with this bike and have no complaints.

other than gearing being a tad bit too tall i have no complaints. i installed SS lines, and now the already great brakes feel 1.5 times stronger and dont fade. turns great, wheelies very nicely, is surprisingly comfortable, and i have yet to feel any buzz in the bars. the gear shift indicator comes in very handy. i dropped from a 954 to this 600, and was worried about not being satisfied with the power, but now that i have it, i doubt i ever go bigger again.

First bike bought and Im glad I picked this one. Love the feel, power and handling. I dont have laot of experience riding, but have riden other bikes, glad i waited and invested a little more in the 600. I love the bike and love getting out on the road with it. I will agree, stability at high speeds is great, rides smooth. Great investment.

my personal ride is the gsxr1000 but I bought the gsxr600 for my wife. we lowered it down four and a half inches for her and added the power comander plus were put on the new micron gp exhuast.with the bike lowered down it makes the handling much better and as for speed it is definately not wanting for more. I find that when ever I get a chance to hope on there I go. Going from mine to hers is a blast.

Awesome bike. Once you get 500 miles on it and can let it start screaming, it's heaven for any biker. I Recommend this bike.

Love this ride. I bought it...I don't like the transmission as much as I like the Yamaha. I don't like the downshifting (esp. from 2nd to 1st gear, and N to 1st gear). also, if you are parking the bike, it doesn't turn as well as others (like my old GS500, or my harley). But, that's actually a small, SMALL complaint. The bike flies, and it's a great bike.

Have my 07 Gsxr for 3 weeks now, very good bike really stable at high speeds. Only thing I don't like is that its a bit difficult to turn the bike whilst parking, but the beast makes up to me in other ways.
