Pros: Looks and fits great, superior armor and textile fabric
Cons: Venting could be better

While men have a million choices of ballistic/textile jackets for touring. I found it tough to find a good textile touring jacket for a small woman. I wanted features and I wanted a jacket that actually fit me and looked good too. After purchasing 4 jackets and returning them all back, I purchased the Marsee Adventure jacket. I’m 5’5” and the smallest size 36 fits me like a glove.

This is a longer ¾ length jacket, but it’s not too long for the sportbike, so the material doesn’t bind. It’s completely waterproof and has vents, although the venting is not as great as I would like. Also, since the jacket is black it’s really warm when the temperature goes over 80 degrees. This jacket is a perfect winter/spring/fall touring jacket. It has a full sleeve zip in liner. The pockets are very useful and not too big. I keep my wallet in one, the ipod in the other and my digital camera in another, the pockets are also waterproof. This jacket has seen a lot of rain and stayed very dry.

The textile material that this jacket is made from is very thick. I actually dislike wearing textiles because textile flaps around in the wind while leather doesn’t. This jacket feels like wearing leather since the textile is very stiff, it doesn’t flap in the wind or move at all. It’s very much like the fabric that the Aerostich is made from. I could see this material protecting me in a crash. Plus this jacket has excellent armor in the shoulders and elbows and even a built in back protector. Something most textile jackets lack.

Even though this is a men’s cut jacket, the shoulders are very small on it, the sleeves fit me just right, not too long or wide and adjustable, as is the waist. This is a very comfortable and good looking jacket. I have only worn it since last season, but have already put 15,000 miles using it. I would not recommend it for summer and hot weather though. It’s perfect from 35-80 (low humidity) degrees.
