Pros:
Light-weight, moderate price, comfortable
Cons:
Fogs easily, wind noise
Ive owned a Shoei X-8, Shoei RF-900, KBC VR1, some old Arai and now this RF1000. Very nice helmet, lightweight compared to those others especially the KBC. The wind noise is tolerable, but above 100 mph the noise is accompanied by a low frequency hum, similar to the sound when you blow across an empty bottle. If you cover the opening under your chin, it goes away. This helmet is also prone to fogging. If you are in traffic, even when it is relatively warm, it will fog. No fogging problems while moving over 25 mph.

Pros:

Cons:

a little noisy but not bad

This is a great helmet, it\'s extremely comfortable and light on your head. This is the kind of helmet I feel like I could wear all day and not get tired in the neck. The small wing on the back really does seem to stabilize the helmet at speed, which makes it even more comfortable when riding. Fit and finish are of course excellent, it\'s a Shoei after all. Highly recommended, expecially if you can get a deal like I did($280 with an extra tinted visor, breath guard and chin mesh liner). Plus you know it will do well in a crash, again, it\'s a Shoei.

Expensive shield replacement cost. ($60.00 at dealer)
Texas rider, and this helmet is cooler than any other I\'ve ever worn. Cost is high, and replacement or changing eyeshields is high (for plastic), dealer was wanting $60.00 for the blue tinted one. But, changing it out is easy. For $60.00 you should get a protective case withit, so you can change back to clear at night. I too recommend ear protection, above 60 it does get to be loud, fogging has not been an issue for me. I do clean the eyeshield weekly at a minimum. (300-500 mile wk. rider)
