Question front turn signals

Ok I'm new to this site and tried the search feature but didn't see any info that seemed to help , anyway what I want to know is how to gain access to the front signal for swapping out , I hate the big factory ones , and I didn't feel like just start pulling all the front plastics to find how to get to them. Thanks for any help and feel free to offer suggestions on the easiest way to find info on this site also.

I had to take off my front upper to get them unplugged from the electrical but you can take the old ones off through the little holes on the inside of the fairing by the front tire with a phillips s/d without taking them off. You could prolly just tap into the wires from there without taking any off but i didnt because I'm anal about wiring and had to make it right. I used LP smoked flushmounts on my 08.

Good Luck

The front turn signal boots can be taken off be hand. You can remove the signal lamp "washer" parts 92200 and 92200B with a phillips head screwdriver. If your going to install flush mount turn signals on the front some require removing the upper cowling assembly. Reason? Because some types like MOTOTECK are like a sandwich and the hardware is on the inside. You have to remove the upper cowling assembly so you can get to that hardware to properly install the signals.

Please the exploded diagram for parts 92200 and 92200B that I mentioned. Jay

Yea my LP flushmounts took me taking the front off to hold the back plate on but I just used the threaded plate from the stockers turned sideways as the backer plate instead of drilling new holes in my fairing for the mount screws. Also if your courdinated you wont have to take any plastics off for your oil change just put something in the bottom of your fairings to catch any oil that leaks from your oil filter during removal. I used a plastic bag wrapped around a piece of cardboard to channel it into my drain pan. Hope we could help.

I never really understand the hesitation to take off the fairings. It takes me about 1 minute per side. Cordless drill plus cut down allen wrenches and a screwdriver attachment.

I agree, don't fear your fairings. Even if you don't work on your bike, they must come off occasionally and someone else will do it anyways. You may as well do it yourself and know how it works.

I have no trouble working on the bike , for the most part , just had already had the ass end tore down and didn't feel like jumping on the front yet ,I may change my mind on the signals I put in anyway , I currently have some short stalk LED's but am looking at the LED flush mounts from LP ,has anyone here tried and like them?

Mine aren't LED but the LP flushmount 2's are pretty good I've had them on all three of my bikes with no troubles except I had to go back to LP to get bulbs cause no parts store carried them and they had no numbers on them. I stayed away from LED ones cause I did'nt want to install a load balancer to make them blink right.

Check out Greggs Customs if you ever decide to replace the stock turn signals.

They're kinda pricey but look amazing.
