My new GPS
Just got done installing my Ram Mount for my new GPS unit. Cost of the Ram Mount, $51 and some change shipped to my door. I have to say I think this will really hold up (unlike the last one!). It mounts in the steering stem and I couldnt pull it off for the life of me. Apparently doing things the right way is better in the long run...haha (the last one came off at 70 mph, and I had JUST bought it that morning). My new one is Garmin Nuvi. It holds MP3's, and if I can find some decent noise cancelling earphones, Ill be set.

I got the same one... $359 on sale. a buddy almost bought one then said nah, I'll wait.... he can't find it for less than $399. I too need to get one of those mounts. I used the suction cup... it came off at some time during the ride. not fun trying to take a turn and make sure your brand new GPS doesn't go flying off the bike. Do you have a link for the mount or is it the same link Rocket provided?

Looks good. Can you easily remove the mount for when you arent using the GPS? I have been looking at the tomtom rider for three reasons, It works with your cell phone, It is motorcycle friendly, and tomtom has a Europe traffic camera database.

yes, removes in seconds. I chose this because of the size. I dont want/need a cell, so that doesnt matter to me personally about being able to have a phone work with it. One thing I dont like (but can live without because I dont ride in the rain much at all) is that its not waterproof.

thanks! I also just got done wiring in the 12V plug in. I chose to hide it underneath the seat for now and just ran the power wire to the gps from the plug in. Im in a hurry today because I have the Ride of the Century today in St Louis and Ill have to be leaving soon. But for temporary, I hid it well, so this will do for now.

I bought the Nuvi 200 for $199 but have not mounted it on my bike. What is the plan if you you get caught in a rain storm?
