Default Want to rejet the bike got ?'s for the seasoned guys

Alright I had a CBR600 F2 back in 99 and had that thing rejetted with a stage 2 jet kit. Throttle was great then and miss the way it handled. Sold the bike before getting stationed in Incirlik. Fast forward present day. Got the 07 ZZR600 in June. Put a bolt on yoshi pipe and thought it make the bike sound better but the throttle is crap as far as response goes. I was thinking about the shim method to clean up the 5k flat this bike has but was thinking if I am going to do that I might as well just re-jett the darn thing. I hate to say this but I almost sold the darn thing for a R1 because I want more power. But I came to my sense's and want more power outta my ZZR. Give me some detailed advice on how to produce more power out of this thing!

Thanks in advance.

Put a 4 degree advance in it - that will help. I also just did the jet kit rather than the shims for the same reasons. It ain't never gonna be an R1 (or even an R6) powerwise but the little things help.
I need to do a dyno tune to get the most out of my jet kit. Need to find some time to make it to the shop and play with it. The throttle responce is certainly better now. And I have an RS3 as well.

I have been thinking about doing that as well. What does it take to do the advance?

About $55 and 10 minutes of your life..
Pull the right fairing, pull the cover, pull the old piece out, pop in the new one, replace cover, replace fairing, enjoy...

Another thing is make sure you are mechanically inclined to install the carb jets as this is a very finicky area. Good thing my dad showed me how to do the jets and everything on my bike because it is intricate stuff. Anyways, we used 157.5 jets on cylinders 1 and 4 and 162.5s on 2 and 3. My set up is a micron slip on k&n filter, ignition advancer and stage 1 jet kit from factory pro. I noticed more power down low in the rpms, which i guess is at least one benefit. the throttle seems more snappy, but its hard to tell as the bikes are fast the way it is. The way i can put is it seems more like a fuel injected bike as opposed to carbed bike.

Thanks for the info. I will be ordering it tonight before I go to bed. Will this kinda show an improvment with just a slip-on since I haven't got the jetting yet?

It will give you some more snap down low - I don't think there's much gained on top - it already pulls pretty damn hard once it spins up.

Well just ordered it should be here this weekend. Can't wait to see how this helps. Thanks for the inputs. I will get some pics up of the bike this weekend with all the mods as of late as well.

Got the advancer today. Put it on and alittle bit more of a different feel on the bike. I am not overly joyed with it yet. Jetting is the next thing to help me out.
