My name is Merv. I've been lurking around this forum for a coupe weeks now but this is my first post. I am in need of your opinions on a couple questions that I have. I've pretty much fell in love with the Kawi ZZR600 and I'm pretty much set that this is going to be my first cycle purchase. Here's my issue...Should I go ahead a purchase a 2007 ZZR now or wait a couple months for the 2008 models to come out? Currently, I can get a decent deal on a red 2007 ($6900 OTD). I know that I will probably have to pay MSRP or close to MSRP for the 2008. So, if Kawi doesn't increase the MSRP on the '08, I can save about $400. I need a couple opinions if the savings are worth the purchase of an '07 or should I just wait until September and get the '08. I'm guessing that new colors will also be available. I don't suppose if anyone has heard any rumors of any changes in '08.

You'll probably be able to pick up a leftover 2007 for cheaper and it'll probably still be the exact same bike.
What I'd ask myself if I were in your position though is, how much is a warrantee worth? Do you really wanna buy a brand spankin new bike that's basically 7 years old, or buy a used one for 1/2 the price? If i asked myself that question it'd be a no brainer, I'd save myself a shitload of money & buy a used one. Hell, if you were local I'd sell you my '00 ZX6R which is the same bike for 3g's.
I heard the if you wait till 09 Kawi will put in an even bigger flux capacitor!
Seriously, if you want a bike, buy a bike - what's it worth to you to sit around and watch other people ride by until some next year, model, version, etc. comes out? Unless you live somewhere where the weather is good year round you're losing out of quality riding time as we speak...
If it's your first bike, take the MSF course before hand, consider something smaller than the ZZR and make sure your budget includes funds for proper gear (helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, boots, etc) as well as the bike itself.

Yeah...and you can use banana peels for fuel..lol! MSF course is already scheduled for August 4 & 5 which is the first weekend that its being offered this summer at the community college here in Oklahoma City. Haven't ridin since 94 so I need a refresher!
There was a post on the Kawiforums about it not being on the order sheet. I think it was the guy from Advanced Kawasaki - he then corrected himself and said that it was a false alarm and that it should be with the rest of the sportbikes on the September order sheet.
