I'm Greg. I'm new to the sportbike world and love my 2005 ZZR. It puts my old cruiser to shame. Like I said, I ride a 2005 ZZR600, stock Blue color, and I got it a few weeks ago with about 2000 miles. Its a great bike but hard to find alot of information for. I'm glad to be a part of this community and to have this resource.

My favorite ZZR color, but I'm biased.

Hey everyone, I'm Justin and I've been using this site for about a year now, finally joined. I'm riding a 2005 zzr that I've had for over a year, just recently started putting some extras on it. It was my first bike and probably one of the best ones to start learning on.

Welcome to SBN. Although I wouldn't consider the ZZR600 as a beginner bike. The ZX6R "J" model aka ZZR600 has lots of race history.

Having trouble finding parts for your 2005-2008 ZZR600? Try searching for parts that will fit a 2000-2002 ZX6R "J" model.

The 2005-2008 ZZR600 has one gas tank! It holds at total of 4.8 gallons of which 3.7 is available until you have to switch to reserve to use the remaining 1.1 gallons of gas.

I'm sorry about that, I ment it was one of the best ones for me personally. I have found that as I have developed my riding ability (and I am by no means saying I am an expert or anything), that I have not found myself "out growing" the bike. I know the zzr can perform way above my skill level so I don't think that I will be wanting a, for the lack of a better word, "better" bike any time soon.
I do agree with you that the zzr might not be the best starter bike, and I'm here to tell ya, I have been lucky by not being stupid with it.

New to the forum got my first bike in may 08 zzr600 despite what everyone says I think it was a great bike to start on. You just got to respect it. Heres a stock pic and just a carbon yoshi pipe and hotbodies windscreen.

Its in no way a bad bike. The main thing is that 90% of new riders get over confident quick and then its way too much bike. The second part is that an SS bike is less forgiving to mistakes. If you are on a 250 or small cruiser and slip the clutch or mess up in a corner its easier to get out of your mistake than on a ZZR or other SS. Thats why it isn't reccomended for beginners. Kudos to you if you can keep yourself under control and haven't made any big Noob mistakes. Continue to be safe and learn. 6 months is just scratching the surface of being an experienced rider.
