bikes have them stock under the rear seat. there are two hoks on the subframe and hooks on the D ring. but i wouldnt advise that since people just cut the strap to steal your helmet

What would you suggest to do?

I would really prefer to not have to carry my helmet around, but I want it as safe as possible. All I can find are ones that use the d-ring or a cable through the face of the helmet.

The two hooks under your rear seat are to hang helmets on and then re-install the rear seat. That's why your ignition key fits the lock on the left hand side of the tail section of your bike. So why do you need to buy anything else?? Jay

The 2005-2008 ZZR600 has one gas tank! It holds a total of 4.8 gallons of which 3.7 is available until you have to switch to reserve to use the remaining 1.1 gallons of gas.

Dont use the strap at all. Take your D-Ring from you helmet and place it on the metal hook like thing ( thats righ by the loop strap) and replace seat. Its a tighter fit then the cargo strap and they will have to cut the helmet strap if they want your helmet. By that time it is freakin useless.

I just bring my shit w/ me or leave it w/ the bike.

If you're worried about people cutting your chin strap, just use a regular cable lock & run it through the chin bar. You can also use it to run through the arm of your jacket if you wanna leave that w/ the bike.

I need a cable lock so I lock my jacket up. Sucks when I go somewhere and will be inside a resturant or a bar. If I am at work I leave it on my bike because we have a large amount of bikes and parking so no one messes with them. Big Security area too, the entire site is secured.

Thanks for showing me the under seat helmet lock, I got a used bike with no manual and it was boggling me for a few weeks.

I usually carry my helmet with me, but currently if I'm at a public event (county fair, or a baseball game/parking garage or something and I don't want to carry it all over the place I use this method: I like the D-ring/seat lock thing so it hangs off the seat nicely and then for extra security I got myself a 6' python lock to run through the face also and through a wheel or something. It all coils up small in the seat later too. I can run through 2 helmets easy. I haven't tried the jacket sleeve lock thing but I usually just wear it around or hang it on a chair if I'm in a restaurant etc.

Great advice everyone, Many thanks!!

Take your helmet with you. Wal-Mart doesn't care if you use a cart to carry all your gear around with you.

If they want it bad enough nothing you do is going to stop them. But just using the strap buckle is going to be secure enough. Like the others said, they can cut it, but what good is it going to do then.
