Default incredible gas mileage

this last tank of gas i was anything but easy on her...but i got nearly 200 miles on a tank!!! 196 to be exact, mixed driving, some interstate 80+ mph, some stop and go, some back roads with fun twisties now and then...holy shit!

The most I have got is 182 on a tank, I ran it dry and had to push it through Newhall Pass at 3 AM coming home from Hollywood. I get about 40MPG and I ride aggresive so I know you can get better mileage if you keep the rpms down.

I filled up today while I was out riding. I had 149.6 miles on the trip meter and put 3.276 gallons of gas in the tank, that comes out to 45.6 mpg. That's not to bad, I guess considering I like to wack the throttle allot.

Zzrrocket; that is very good. I think around 45 is about the best I have ever done as I do the math everytime based on miles logged and gallons pumped. Not bad.

I'm starting to think people in more northern states get better gas milage for some reason. I've mentioned my milage before never being higher than 41mpg and average being 35mpg. And it seems that everyone mentioning higher milage is from a northern state with more moderate temps.

Anything to this?

My best mileage was 52.3mpg, mostly steady hwy at a steady 80mph. Normally I'm between 48-50mpg with mix hwy/back roads/traffic/etc.

You know, maybe there is something to what Alien236 is theorizing about; maybe due to the carburation the bikes sold in northern states are adjusted different than in the southern states.

I'm getting about 40 to 50, only seen 52 mpg on a long haul to the North Shore of MN.

40 to 50 is excellent; I rarely get over 42-43 per gallon and usually get about 40 with a low of about 36.
