Default thoughts

I have posted this on a few other sites but i made the mistake of letting my little brother ride my bike and needless to say he thrashed it . But it really isn't that bad i think. The worst thing is that the frame is bent a little bit. I am thinking about just having it straightened which would be cheaper than buying a new one and getting rid of it is not an option. Here are some pics. I dont think it is that bad and my little said he will pay for everything, but i am gonna try to be creative when i buy new stuff for it so will split some of the cost with him. I was wondering if people think i am just screwed or what.

wait- where's the frame bent at?

maybe circle it in the side pic, or back off/focus the overhead pic?

ok there are dimples on the sides of the frame at the front, it looks like the rake just got smushed in and that is what caused the dimples. and threw off the lines of the frame. the tank now touches and those threads at the top of the tank got pulled out. You can see that the front wheel got pushed back.

OUCH!!! Man I feel for you. Check eBay, you can probably find a frame pretty cheap there. Straightening the frame might work. Investigate all you're options. Good luck. Thats why I don't let anyone ride my bike or my wife.

i was looking on ebay...all the frames on there are more than it is gonna cost to have it straightened. I talked to a shop in cali and the guy said it is a common bend and easily fixed. So i am thinkin since it is gonna be off... i am gonna have all the plastics painted...hopefully subaru blue and have the frame powder coated a flat black of sorts. ALso i gotta c if my forks are still good. I hope they are...cut down the costs a bit

he is fine. it was really weird how he did it. He had a good lean and then squeezed the front brakes. He went down and when he did the bike hit, spun and slammed into the curb and it spun it all around. Was like 15-20 mph. His toe looked all bruised and his knee was all scrapped up. But when he got on it he was like...do i need the jacket. I told him yeah just to be safe. So he tore up the speedmaster jacket and one of my gloves. Helmet was fine. He is ok. Its all good.

Thats not an issue, it was my sister that let me have it. Said i was dumb to let him ride it...true as it was, but that he shouldn't have to pay for the damage he did. Which i thought was odd, but i told him before he even got on it, that if he dropped it he had to fix it. Just weird circumstances caused some serious damage instead of being minor cosmetic damage.
