Default Miles Per Gallon

I am hoping to get an 06 ZZR 600 Next month. Was curious what sort of gas mileage you guys have been getting. Please include you weight as this plays a big part in it.

Thanks.

I just got an 06 last week. I am 157 lbs. I was told when I bought it that it should get around 35 to 40 a gallon. On the other hand I was also told that it had a full tank when I picked it up and it ran dry on me at 93 miles. There is no gas light on it. I ran it for 105 miles and gased up and it only took 2.7 gals of gas in the 4.8 tank so Im guessin around 200 miles a tank. Its still in the break in period so i don't know if that is a factor in it or not.

My 02 ZX-6R gets between 40 and 50 mpg depending on how I ride. I usually don't go more than 120-130 miles before I fill up but even at that point I don't hit the reserve and hardly ever get 3 gallons of gas to fill it.

I have the 06 ZZR and last time I checked...during break in...I was getting like 56 mpg. I ride it a little harder now...been filling up about every 120 miles and it takes about 3 gal most of the time. So between 40-50 would be a close estimate!

I seem to get about 40-45 but if I stay a lot over 10,000RPMs that can go down by a few miles per. I do the same thing, fill it around 120 miles and it takes about three.

....same EXACT thing happened to me. Dealer told me it had a full tank and I only got 102 miles. When it ran out of gas, I thought I broke a sprocket tooth or something. But then it stalled and I realized what happened.

With my '05 ZZR 600 I'm averaging right around 48-52mpg. I normally fill up around 150 miles, but its rare to hit reserve. I might hit reserve on a longer trip somewhere around 175 miles. Pretty good considering how I ride and where I ride.

52 MPG, how do you get such high mileage? Do you keep the RPMs down always?

Usually if I'm getting that high of mileage I was taking it fairly easy. I'm usually shifting fairly early most of the time (5k - 6k). I shift a lot, too. More than I probably need too, but sometimes I want the mileage.

Dealer told me the same thing and I started spuddering at 60 miles. Luckily there was a gas station right there.
