whether you power it up or drop the clutch, the front forks take the same amount of pressure. when the front end comes down is when the forks are impacted the most.
Also, I didn't mean the chain would be damaged or that you would have problems with the chain, but it will stretch faster when clutching it than just powering the front up. stretch faster over time that is.
and last but not least, powering up without the clutch is less wear intensive than reving up high and dumping the clutch.

My problem with wheelieing my Ninja is when I try to get it into 2nd gear. Everytime I go from 1st to 2nd I get stuck on the Positive Neutral Finder that Kawasaki's have. Once that happens I lose momentum and come down.
My primary method of 'gettin her up' is using the clutch method. I cannot "power up" like others claim. I find with the lower clip-ons than most bikes it is more difficult to wheelie this bike. Along with the heavier front-end bias.
The ZX-7R doth not wheelie bike make.

I've bounced up a buddy's stock 7R. It's not impossible, but not the easiest either.

I agree, I can't power it up, and I am grabbing a hand full of throttle. I use the clutch method, it works, but of course I still have stock gearing.

This ? is alittle off topic, my clutch is about 2 hairs from being shot. I have new firc. plates and springs, but waiting for the cover gasket to come in. After I put the new clutch in will that help. The old one isn't slipping, but I thought the new one might bite alittle better to help wheelie?

when i close the throttle and the bikes front end goes down, at the very same time it starts to spring back up I grab a lot of throttle, this gives you a bit of help bouncing it up.

I'll have to keep trying. It must be my timing, all I get is maybe alittle wheelie and the thing acels like there's no tomarrow. And that's with a +2 rear sproket. Also have braded steel front lines, Pro-Teck Rear Sets, Yosh b/o, K&N, 520 DID Chain, Shark Skinz Bodywork.
