Default Freshening the S pipe

Has anyone painted their S pipe/headers? I assume they're simply painted from the factory as my S pipe is begining to look tired and some small bits or rust are developing where all of the head pipes come together. I was thinking about just sandblasting and repainting with some 1200 degree paint. Any thoughts?

That should work, but the factory header is actually ceramic coated. I took my SS midpipe to a local powder coating shop who ceramic coated it black for the whopping sum of $30. It has held up great and is much more tolerant of boots/heat than the header paint will be.

that's what I did on mine. sanded her down and painted it with high temp paint- the headers and the S pipe. and for a finishing touch I put some high gloss black paint on the S pipe on top of the high temp so the part you see is nice and shiny instead of flat black.

really? If that's the case, painting it would be a foolish move.

Dude, paint it something like orange or yellow to really make it stand out! Relatively cheap and unique bling opportunity?
