Default Advancer ????

Hey Amish,

Did you go with the Factory adjustable advancer? If so, how did you determine to settle on the +4 advancement?

Any noticable differences in top or bottom end? How about MPG? Better? Worse?

Thanks,
Stone

Ummmmmmm, I don't wanna be mean, but that undertail you made for it looks like absolute ass. Maybe if it was a little smoother or somewhat symetrical it would look ok, but damn. Sorry to criticize

No offense taken, like I said it was done in one hour, and the sanding done by hand. Once I get my drill with the sanding head back it will look a bit better. No one aver accused me of being a professional body work person (whatever you call them) LOL!

this is one of the best up grades i have done yet on this bike. I researched the adjustable/fixed advancer and after reading how most people if not all of the ones that bought the adjustable version all settled on +4 degree. so...i bought the fixed advancer that comes set at +4 degrees. very simple to install. as soon as i started the bike up i noticed a difference. first off the bike runs 400 RPMs faster than it did before. that 400 rpms make a nice difference when riding. the best way to describe it is "Peppy" the bike just feels peppier than before. the mid range of the power band seems more alive for sure.

now here is the biggest improvement: gas mileage.

before installing this advancer i was getting around 78 to 80 miles before hitting reserve then i would usually ride about 20 miles on reserve before filling up. ( think the terrible gas mileage is due to my exhaust and jet kit )
so here is the great news: i now on a regular basis hit 120 miles BEFORE needing reserve!! and i have so far pushed reserve to 30 miles before heading in for gas. my bike gets wonderful gas mileage all due to this advancer.

i don't know if the bike has more top end. im just very happy with this little upgrade.
