Default Zx7 - Zx7r

What's the difference between the 2? I'm picking up a 1991 ZX-7(R?) in a couple days, but it has no decals and aftermarket paint. So is there a visual difference I can use to tell which model it is? and what seperates the two? more HP, better suspension, etc... TIA!

Same bike. Maybe different year. The only one that's different is the RR. Don't worry, that '91 isn't an RR.

Have you even tried going to the website you're recommending? It's just a logo, nothing else. And you call ME lazy?

Why not just help him out and answer the question instead of basically double posting and giving out incomplete links that require registration to view anyway?

.com/7r/

To the OP, I was wrong in my previous post. The ZX-7 (ZX750-J1) and ZX-7R (ZX750-K1) were two different bikes that year. I'm out of my element with the Kawasaki stuff.

The ZX-7R is a single seater bike with no rear pegs. It also had a piggy back rear shock, the 7 had a regular shock. The 7R forks are multi adjustable with adjustment screws at the bottom of the fork legs.
The 7 doesn't have those.

There are some other differences, but that should get you started for a visual check.

http://www.buykawasaki.com/Default.asp? >>> Click on Motorcycle, the model and year and look up parts lists, they have useful diagrams of all parts.

Ok, I see that site does allow guests to access. My bad.

It seems that the R was their homologation race bike from '89-'95. From '96-'03 the R was their street bike and the RR was their race bike.

*slinks quietly back to the Suzuki forum*

Correct. The RR's are more a race ready bike from my understanding. A RR in good shape is pretty rare. If you find one, jump on it!
