Default Frame Sliders

Has anyone found a set of frame sliders that can be offset mounted so you don't have to cut your fairing?

I cut some aluminum brackets to replace the stock upper fairing mounts, so I could mount a frame slider there. However at that height the slider will need to stick out pretty far to offer any protection. I'd prefer buying an off-the-shelf offet bracket to mount a standard slider too.

any ideas would be appreciated.

Is there a reason you don't want to cut the fairing?

cut them it will save ur ass later when u crash and the no-cut slider break of and f%$#k ur farings. When u cut them use a laser pointer and center the hole around the bolt so ur cut will be nice.

What brand sliders are you using? Also, do you have pics with them installed?

If you really care to protect your frame, you'll need to cut the fairing to use the engine mounts.

I will post some pictures of the sliders I am making once they are on the bike. If they don't seem stable enough I'll have to cut the fairings and put on a normal set.

I just hate the idea of cutting my nice clean fairings.

When I was looking for the same thing for my 11, the only ones I found that offered 'offset' sliders was GSG-Mototechnik .. but even their's make you cut on the 7.

Here's a pic on a ZZR. Just don't know how they'd stand up compaired to 'normal' sliders in a crash.

We all felt the same way Skinione.

Basically, it boils down to why you want sliders.

If you want them for looks only, just use the offset ones. These tend to be weaker support and break weird, ruining not just you fairing but maybe your frame as well.

If you want to protect your frame the best way possible, then I suggest you drill through the fairing. Note that nothing will protect the bike from a serious crash, but having the frame sliders mounted correctly will save the bike from some minor slides.

I promise the pain is only the first second when you cut into it. Just be sure you use a circular saw with a center bit.
After that, the pain is replaced with the comfort that you did the right thing!

"*Note: Cutting of the fairings required for installation of the frame slider "
?????? This is from the link?
Like it was said before if u want looks use the "no cut one" my opinion they suck
If u want protection use a $3 laser pointer and $9 hole saw with drill and install the "cut ones"will save u money in the long run

sorry, posted the wrong link, I had a couple of windows open looking at things.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

it's probably not accurate though since it's an auction. As far as the no cuts, I figured a decent brand with a decent rep might have a little more clout. I don't mind cutting my fairing to put on sliders. They'll save enough to make it worth it.

Once you cut and install sliders, you hardly even notice that you cut the fairings... they truly do look natural.
