Default Taillight won't go out!!

I know this sounds wierd, but every so often-usually after riding hard- when I shut my bike off and remove the key my tailight will still be on. I have to start it back up and then shut it off a few times to get it to go out. Anyone ever experienced this?

I have not experienced that but are you sure you're not turning your key past the off position. I have done that. The position pass off is park, I believe...Your light will remain on with the key in this position.

+2 on this.

If that's not the problem, check the switch down at the pedal assembly. The switch is hooked to the pedal via a spring to pull the switch plunger out to make the brake light come on. I've seen that shaft get grease/road dirt/crap on it so that it can't fully retract back into the housing to turn the light back off.
