Default Cutting fairing to install frame sliders

Hey all,

I'm thinking about purchasing this Shogun Crash Kit:

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...R--506887.html

My only concern is having to cut my fairing to install these. Has anyone else installed these or do any of you have suggestions for better frame sliders/swingarm sliders/barsliders?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Cutting the fairing is actually fairly simple. Power Saw + Hole Saw attachment = WIN

It's easy, just be sure to line it up correctly.

Im 100% sure they make no cut frame sliders for the 05 zx-6, my buddy has a set. I'm pretty sure Shogun makes them too. Check ebay.

I see you're in sac I did mine w/a dremel (round sanding bit) just taped off the area, marked cut, and made the cut. I finished it off w/some auto door molding to give it a cleaner look..... btw did everything w/o taking off the fairings.
pm me if you need some help I'm in the Sac area as well....

i bought a set of some Vortex frame sliders on ebay for my 636. Very good quality and no need to cut the fairing because the base of the slider is metal and shaped to fit with the fairing. Can get colored puck ends which is a plus to match your bike :-)

'03-'04 does not require cutting the fairings. for an '05 you need to shave off some material on the left side. I used a 90deg cutting tool with a rotary grind stone and it seemed to work very very well.

Measure twice. do the layout. and measure again. Then just take your time and shave off little-by-little. Remember, you can always take more off if you need to, but it's tough to glue on plastic shavings....

Don't get no-cuts...

They are shitty compared to cuts... The bracket used greatly degrades the strength of the slider...

I got the shogun kit. Came with sliders, spools, and bar ends...

All went on perfect...

I used a drill and hole cutting drill bit. I think they are made for door knobs and what not... Eye balled it, cut it. Pretty decent fit...

As for the hole cutting bit - I believe it was a 2" bit. I just eyeballed it and made a mark where I viewed the bolt lying. Drilled the mofo... Slid the slider on and it fit exact.
