Only ZRX?
Don't tell me I'm the only one with a ZRX on this board?
Well hello.

They don't seem to be a real popular bike in the US.
Japanese riders absolutely love them here though. I see them all the time, even 1400's!

I have a 2001 and love it. I have two bikes and the ZRX is the one I ride the most.

Well, I know there are a bunch of ZRX's around. Most people that ride them are on ZRXOA, and I'm on that too. But I figured this board would have a bunch of Rexer's too. Yesterday when I posted this thread, I didn't see and history, so I thought it was the 1st post. Guess there must be some here.
I heard Japan may get a new model for 2008. Maybe they aren't dead yet.

Does it count if that is one of the top picks for my next bike?

I had an 01'. Loved it, they are a well rounded ride. Wish I could've kept it in the stable.

how are they for two up? Commuting? Longer commutes ~2hrs? Hows is the suspension compared to say a 10 yr old ss?

I ride almost always solo. So for two up I can't really say. It's gotta be far better than some sport bikes, but not as good as some cruisers and sport tours.
The longes trip I've personally done is 800 miles in 3 days. Not problem, and that's on the stock seat. Most people hate the stock seat and get a corbin or sargent. I plan on getting a seat this next year. But otherwise the seating position is great and arms/wrists stay fairly comfortable. Many ride the ZRX hard and far. I'm sure it is fine for commuting, I hear many do it. I do sometimes, but I'm only 5 miles from work.
Suspension. Most people think it's eh, so so. A lot of people mod them and get ohlins or works or some other brand put on. I've heard a few things that can be done too the forks to make them great. Personally, I've been able to tune mine in the way I like it with the stock setup. People still say do that mod first, you won't believe how it handles afterwards.
One thing about the ZRX, is it's relatively inexpensive to get into, but it's a bike you can heavily modify it if you want to. You can spend a little or a lot, it's up to you. Some like it stock and leave it just as it is too, but that is rare.

My wife says it's much better than my '99 SV. Passenger pegs are a little short, so the legs cramp up a bit for her (she's 5'6" or so).
Front forks can be messed with up until the '04 model that I happen to have acquired. Robare is right, lots of aftermarket units purchased for the rear, but it's light years better than the SV straight out of the box.
I'd like to have slightly less buzz in the bars and pegs for extreme travel, but a two to five hour trip is pretty nice. Not having six cogs in the gearbox took some time to adjust to, but it's not all that bad. It does most things pretty well, nothing spectacularly.

No.
I'm keeping the Rex, but I'm in the market for something lighter. I weighed my Rex and I, and found us to be in excess of 800 lbs, without any touring add-ons.
Whups.

I love my REX. I also have a 600RR, and I love it for pounding around, but it's not nearly as comfortable as the REX. My wife won't get on the Honda, so two up is always on the REX. The thing I like most about the REX is it's ability to lift the front wheel with only the throttle. Put a passenger on back and becomes tough to keep the front end down. If mama Kaw would build this bike with the 14 motor, I'd have one of those too.
Oh, and I can keep up with all the punks on their 600s too. I removed the paint in the 1200 badge. Most guys under 30 have no idea what this bike is, then I woop the sh*t out of them at the lights. It does that real well.
