Default WOOHOO! Back on the road!

I picked up my new ride this weekend It's an 05 GSXR 750. I'm friends with the girl I bought it from and she had it since it was new, so I know all the history of the bike and it's set up for my weight. It was her track bike, but she still had all the street plastics, so I'm converting it back into a multipurpose bike. I was amazed at all the extra goodies she gave me with it. When we were picking it up, she just kept find more and more items to go with it. It has the GPR stabilizer that she never even used, a Penske shock set up for my weight, a Yoshi exhaust, and track plastics already custom painted. I also got an extra Yoshi exhaust, extra right side fairing, and extra tail section. Someone had dropped it in a parking lot right after she got it and replaced everything that had even a slight scratch on it. She cut the wires for the turn signals so I've got to get new ones, which is fine because I want a flush mount kit anyway, and I need to get a new tank as she painted the original one to match the track plastics, so they look quite funny with the street plastics on haha. I'm still getting used to it as I was on the 250 for almost a year and that's all I'd ever really ridden. It's a lot different not being able to flat foot (it's quite funny watching me trying to back it up or even just get it off the kickstand, haha ), and it definitely doesn't turn as easy as the 250, but I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! I will get some pics posted in the next day or two once I get them off my camera, but I'm so excited I had to go ahead and share my news WOOHOO!!!!

Wow...what a difference that's going to be. Congrats on all the goodies!

Just be careful and take it easy, the torque is WAY different.

The power hasn't bothered me yet, granted I'm taking it extremely easy and getting lots of seat time in just with the hubby before I hit up a hard core ride with the guys. So far my biggest "problem" is just the difference in how the 750 turns compared to the 250. Just two completely different bikes, but I figure after a week or two (it's supposed to rain most of this week, boo!!!) I'll be plenty comfortable on it and able to hang with the guys again

Tammy, I promise I'll get pics posted when I get home!!! And yes, I really do feel like I hit the jackpot with all the goodies I ended up with. I have to say my dream bike is the 07 White CBR 600 (yes Jenn I drool over yours all the time lol), but the 750 will eventually be just a track bike and I think it will be perfect for that and will be an excellent street bike as well in the mean time!

Ok time for some pics of my new ride!!!

Here it is with the track plastics. I absolutely LOVE the paint job!!!

I realized how tiny the bike makes me look when I saw this pic

And here she is with her street plastics on (Yes I have to get a new tank to match the street plastics, and I just ordered flush mount blinkers for her!)

Very nice! I like the design on the race bodywork. Someone else likes crescent moons as much as I do.

Damn, Sass! That is kick-ass!

I think I know another SBN hottie who has that same color scheme on HER Gixxer 750......She lives in the far north. I doubt she has gotten her machine out yet this spring.....anyone know?

They are great bikes. It's apparently cool to dislike them in public, but they really don't do anything wrong. The 600s, and to a large extent the 750s are forgiving and easy to ride, for sportbikes. I feel more comfortable on them then almost any other bike I've ridden.

Yea, I really have no problem with them other than the fact that everyone and their brother, especially all the squids, have decided it's cool to buy them. But like I said, I'm loving mine so far!!! And I've heard nothing but good things about the 750, especially on the track. I'm looking forward to getting more and more comfortable on her and getting her back out on the track where she belongs
