Women who ride are strong people. The adversity of gear that is designed for men, bikes that are designed for men, the whole 'Power' thing just feeds to most mens ego's. A women that has overcome that just to ride, or do trackdays, or RACE, is tops in my books! I'm not going to put you (women riders) in the class of "If you ride, you're sexy", It's so much more than that. You are riders, male, female, doesn't matter to me, you are riders...I respect that. I hope that redeems some of us (men).
That was awesome.
At some point we'll get to a place where women on bikes is as common and normal as women in cars. I look forward to that.
As for the misogyny, sadly, that's a bigger issue for our society. It's more obvious and prevalent in a place where lots of dudes congregate - like motorcycle forums where they're free to run their mouths off and we get to witness it, but don't let it discourage you. I've met plenty of awesome dudes along the way, which balances out all the asshats.
I was thinking about it and all of the wrecks that I have know about were all guys, except for a couple of girls that went down at the track. It probably has a lot to do with the guy/girl ratio being so lopsided.

Unfortunately I don't get to do much of any kind of street riding anymore, weekends are all trackday coaching and racing... and if we're home, I'm working on fixing the house.
It would be nice to go on some rides though, and yep - Meno Falls!
My experience in general has been mostly good. I've met a few guys in my time who apparently feel threatened somehow by women riders, and they acted like total jackasses. But they are few and far between, thank goodness.
This thread is amazing and right on in a ton of aspects. Hope the OP is feeling a bit better about us guys now............not everyone is a, well, you know......

Thank you all for your replies. I still feel there is a lot of anti-female sentimentality in these forums. On another forum I belong to , there is a women rider room as well and one came in asking why guys assume that women are inferior riders. Guys being guys leave posts explaing why we are inferior riders AND drivers or ask questions such as
"What do you think causes a girl to get breast implants that are just way to Ginormous for her body?"
I think the moderator has just given up. There is only one sticky:
Sticky: Guys need to stay out of this forum... (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
I find it disrespectful that guys can't give us a place just for us but even come in and slam females and female riders with their BS. Those who do respect women riders are in the minority plus there seems to be an abundance of homophobia as well but that is another thread.

You won't see much of that here, Sam. The site owner has made it very clear that harassing the ladies here won't be tolerated. Guys have been banned for it, and at least one guy that I know of had his access to the Women Riders forum taken away entirely and he still can't come in here to this day.
Outside of this subforum, a little more horseplay is tolerated, and calling out BS will always happen no matter what gender the BSer is. But outright insults and demeaning comments aren't tolerated.
