I have two pairs of mens Alpinestars and one pair of womens alpinestars. The womens gloves I have, though gauntlet, aren't the new Stella gloves, so the armor isn't adequate. I have 2 pairs of SP1 mens gloves that I like well enough to wear.
But generally speaking, mens gloves are too wide and the fingers to fat for women's slender hands. If you get the size that fits across the palm, the fingers are too short and thick. Womens gloves are made to fit a woman's hands. Narrower palm, and fingers that are long enough, but not bulky.
I think Teknic makes women's gloves, but I haven't tried them. I used to have a pair of womens gloves made by Olympia that I loved, but that was years ago. I don't know if they are still making gear or not.

I'd looked at the SP-1's but wasn't sure how they'd fit since they were men's, and around here no one carries hardly any gear to be able to actually try stuff on.

I ride with Kushitani's. Before that I rode with the SP-1's. Am going to pick up a pair of Held pretty soon. (I ride with men's gloves...big hands)
but my friend rides with the SP-1's and they fit her pretty well.

I want to get a pair of Held gloves, but I want to be able to try them on first to see what size fits best. They also have a jacket that I'm in love with.....

hmm...i've been thinking about getting another jacket...

oh, and are there nowhere you can try on held's? i've just heard so much great things about them that it doesn't matter as much (as i have guy hands anyway) My friend just crashed in his kushitanis at the track and they didn't hold up as well as they should, so my SO and I are both upgrading (or going back to) the Helds.
