WOMEN, how do you incorporate bike riding into your daily life?
One girl that use to ride for herself (as opposed to because of a significant other), she would go off to the beach on her bike with her textbooks to study. I am going to start doing that, combining my wish to ride with the need to get other things done...I would call her to see about a group ride, and she would say she was already out atthe end of the world somewhere, studying...
Do you save the bike for joyriding or do you commute it to work or...?
I ride my bike everywhere for everything , to work , for pleasure , I love my bike I dunno what I would do with out it
Is your work casual dress or do you ride in business clothes?
Asking cause I remember seeing some men riding with their suits and either riding boots or work shoes and helmets...most often though they were cruisers so they had these big saddlebags to store their laptop or lunch or something...never saw any women ride theirs to work (unless it was casual dress job and i couldn't tell).

I ride to work sometimes. I work in a law office. I wear overpants and a jacket over my work clothes (Dockers and a blouse). I keep shoes at work and change out of my boots. If my clothes have to be dressier, I don't ride. Too much hassle to have to worry about wrinkles in my suit.
Motorcycles are not a part of my life, they are the center of it. I found my husband, make my business stand out and bond with my children with them. I would not be me without my bikes. I ride to work, casual day or not. I ride with my kids after school. Our lives revolve around what kind of riding we are going to do that weekend. We may be racing or just track riding. Then again we may be spending the day trail riding.........it's all about being together and having a blast.
Well, that and if I go more than 2 days without riding I get REALLY crabby!!!

I wear my dress pants and dress shirts, A*'s boots, gloves and helmet when I go to work which is just around the corner , if I had a real commute I'd wear my gear but I don't . When I ride for pleasure I wear my leathers

postjack!
That black & pink on your bike is wicked! Not too much pink that it's overdone, but not just aimlessly stuck on the bike here and there...love it.
@ other posts...nice to see women that ride daily...I did ride everyday, but i didn't have schoolwork to do during that time so I just admired that girl for having her cake and eating it too. I have help with the baby where I don't have to physically drop her off or pick her up from daycare, and even if that was the case I would have made sure put her in a daycare that does pickup and drop off so that i could get in a ride daily...people don't think of that when they think of children as the end of riding...just takes more planning. And a 6 month break at least for the women (I felt like i shouldn't breastfeed and ride because if something happened to me, the baby's food supply is suddenly affected...but she's eating regular food now so I'm good to go.)

PERFECT. Glad I made this thread andyou answered, cause i was trying to figure out how to motivate myself to wear the riding boots when i would have to bring along the work shoes 5 days a week...that is bulky and if it's the only thing i have to bring along, sometimes I just know it will be ANNOYING because I may feel like riding with nothing on my back but the jacket, some days.
I must be really tired. I could just leave the shoes at work. Even if i happen to not ride that day...can wear whatever, bring socks and change. I need some coffee or something...
I ride to work some days and drive others. It's business casual where I work, but we've been put through the ringer so much with acquisitions & datacenter moves and the like that our last boss told us we could wear jeans if we wanted. And our new boss hasn't changed that.
I do keep a pair of shoes at my desk, but I usually forget to change out of my a* boots for a while after getting there.
As far as incorporating it into my life... the bike is so much a part of my life, there is no incorporating it. She's my baby, my hobby, one of two modes of transportation, and my obsession.
nice responses everybody thanks. I know some people (male or female) with bikes that ride it outside of their 9-5 only...so that's what i meant by incorporate...i haven't met too many women that ride to work and school...
I don't own a car so my bikes are my only transportation. That being said, I work for myself, so I don't have a dress code. I run errands, grocery shop, etc all by bike.
Like the others, I too get crabby on days I don't ride.
