Sportbike: don't own one anymore
Hello Ladies
Since I’m new here I just wanted to pop in and say hello. As you can guess by the name I am new to riding. Two weeks new as a matter of fact so at this point I am still cruising around neighborhoods and parking lots. Makes me feel like a 7 year old again trying to learn how to ride a bicycle for the first time except now there are no training wheels and it’s a hell of a lot faster. I do have to admit I'm a bit scared. Please tell me I am not the only person to have ever felt this way…please…somebody…anybody!?!?
Well I’m going to head back to reading the forums now. Have fun and be safe out there.
yeah sister definitely take the MSF course... and yes... that feeling strikes everyone

Someone new to riding who doesn't have that feeling is a recipe for disaster. If you aren't scared, you will get hurt. One learns to respect the bike thru fear, because the fearless rider will undoubtedly get cocky and end up with road rash.

Lol man i was scared the first few times i just went out in the parking lot. I went against all the rules but i bought my first bike brand new and the first 8 miles was just starting and stopping simulating pulling out of my road onto a main route. Luckliy i had a nice parking lot in my backyard. I also took the MSF course which really helps a bunch. You should look into it my friend just signed up for it in NY and he will be able to get in at the end of this month i beleive (They are usually Packed).
But anytime i am using something new like power tools, or machinery or Pnuematic driven tools or clyinders, is not to be scared of it but RESPECT it. As long as you always respect your bike, yourself, the people you ride with, the road, and the people who are on or maybe on the road, you won;t have a problem.
