Default HELP please!

Ok here is what I did. I took out my boyfriends GSXR-750 and its way to big for me (I am only 5' 2") but with a little creativity I was able to ride it but my boot hit the exhaust pipe and now there is rubber on the pipe and I can't get it off! YUCK! I have tried to get the pipe hot to get it off but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions or chemicals that would work?

When it hardens, it can kind of peel off.

But scotch-brite or steel wool will get it off, then use a stainless polishing compound to get rid of the scratch marks from whatever you use to get the rubber off with. I'd start with scotch-brite, it'll be easier on the pipe.

Are you trying to get rid of it before he sees it? If not, you could just say that it adds character. I've got boot marks on mine too.

Try using #0000 Steel Wool. It should take the black off w/o leaving scratches.

No he knows I did it, I am learning to ride his bike so he is always there with me in case something happens but it was perfect before I started riding it now its been dropped and has "character Marks". But he never gets mad and is glad I am learning to ride.

pulled this in from another forum:

some goo gone should do it... if not...... let it warm up JUST enough to soften the contact area and it should peel right off. or it should atleast get to a point that you can just rub your hand over it (gloves on preferably) and rub off what ever is left....

Default Never dull

I did something quite similar (melted my rain pants onto the pipe on its maiden voyage). I used never dull (it can be purchased at hardware stores or any of the big box places (Lowes, etc). It too it right off.

What kind of exhaust pipe is it? You don't want to use the steel wool on some pipes because it will mess them up.. example, carbon fiber.. titanium flame.. etc..

Is it on the muffler or the pipe connected to the muffler?

You could try getting it hot... like.. ride the bike a while so it's really hot.. and while it's running.. take a razor blade and try to get it off very carefully.

I actually got it all off with some cleaner/polish stuff I found in the bottom of the tool box......2 days later I took it out again and well big surprise did it again but this time I was aware to watch for it and was able to wipe it right off right after the ride and just polish the pipe right up. It's gonna happen everytime I ride cos I am short and need the heal of boot to make me tall enough to touch with my tip toe. Thanks for all the help.
