so my GS is totaled...
i was on my way to work when an older lady turned left pretty much directly in front of me. (i was headed east on a two lane road and she was headed west. then she tried to make a left turn across the road.) i grabbed brake and tried to get out of the way, but there was no way around her. as soon as she figured out i was there, she slammed on her brakes and that is about the time i crashed into the side of her car and then i put my bike down. thankfully, when i saw her, i slowed down a bit, because i'm wary of older drivers, so i wasn't doing the posted 55 mph. i was doing about 50. it didn't feel like i had scrubbed off much speed when i hit her though. i'm okay, but i'm very sore and bruised. nothing broken, thank goodness. and i didn't go flying either, which i'm happy about. my gear saved my ass. i hit my head on the pavement and tore up a glove. my jacket saved my upper body. it all did was it was supposed to do. the state trooper told the lady that she was at fault and would be getting a citation in the mail.
i'm so glad i took the msf! i didn't lock the brakes and my b/f says that i pretty much had a textbook crash. if that is even possible. lol.
i'm just very happy to have tackled a 4000 lb vehicle (it was a buick century. freakin' land yacht) and come out on a winning end.
i'll have pictures to post up on here for y'all tomorrow...
