Default wife to begin riding shortly

My wife is soon to start riding and going to start on a 250 and then she gets my 600(painted *pink*) and I want to make sure she has proper protection so I have searched alot and this seems to be exactly what we are looking for..White/Black/Silver Teknic Ladies Venom 2 Piece Suit

When not in full leathers she will still have her jacket on and the Icon Ladies Standard Jean with Icon Field Armor Shorts and some knee/shin pads...still gonna shop around for boots..

My question is, does anyone know about sizes/how they work(measurement charts) for the suit and if the field armor shorts will work ok for women.

I have the blue suit above.

I received a "real world size chart" from a vendor. I'll see if I can dig it up.

This is from a message I received from a shop that sold the suit above:
Quote:
Teknic Sizing:

There's a sizing chart at "TeknicGear.com" and
the Men's run about 1/2 size Small, so go up a
size if it's close. Women's run about two sizes
Small, so always go up 2 sizes, and please
provide Chest/Waist/Hip Measurement for sizing
confirmation.

Ladies Real World Adjusted Chart

#4) 30/23/33
#6) 32/25/35
#8) 34/27/37
#10) 36/29/39
#12) 38/31/41
#14) 40/33/43
That suit is awesome, btw. I still love mine a year later.

I need a little help with the sizing. The GF is 35/25/36, 5'5". What size should I pick? Is the Teknic 1 or 2 sizes under what is labeled? I'm looking to get the Venom jacket and pants. Should I get 8 in jacket and 6 in pants?

According the real world chart above, your GF is between an 8 and a 10. But that's assuming it applies to all womens Teknic gear. I can only vouche for it applying to the 2006 model venom two-piece suit.

I think the Venom jacket and pants are different than the two piece suit. The jacket and pants are sold separately, whereas the pieces of the two-piece suit are bought as a set. The design and cut of each are slightly different as well.

If you are ordering online, see if you can call the business to give them the measurements and ask them to confirm what size she should have. The place I got the chart above from encouraged it's customers to call to confirm. Maybe the place you are dealing with can do the same.

Now that I think about it, a lady I ride with recently bought the Venom jacket and pants. I think she posted her sizing experience somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. It may provide a little insight.

Ok, she ordered the Venom jacket and pants (separates - not the two-piece suit). Here's what she said before she ordered them:

Quote:
I actually ended up getting 6 instead of the 4 on the jacket. The Teknic I have is a 4 and it fits well, but snug so I went a size up to be safe. I wear a 4 in street pants, but the waist on the chart for a 4 was only 26 - I'm around 28. So I went with 6 to be safe on that too,
And this was the result:

Quote:
Jacket is too big but they are going to exchange it for me!!

Pants fit perfect!!
So it seems like the chart for that jacket was correct, but the pants really are a size smaller than reality.

I'll be getting the seperate pant and jacket. It's not the matching 2-piece design. It will be the Teknic Venom 2006 model. I was able to find it on Ebay for Jacket $119.99 and Pant $49.99/$79.99 from this Ebay vendor ironponydirect. They won't do exchanges on closeout items. So I want to make sure I get the right size. The price is good and I don't mind if I have to resell if I get the wrong size, I just want to save all that time and get the right size the first time around. There aren't any stores near me that stocks Teknic gear. Thank you for all your assistance. GF will get one step closer to getting on the streets.

So is this the recommendation: get the Jacket in a 4 and pants in a 6?

Thanks for the help acalliste. I really appreciate it. I'll be getting the seperates. I'll order the jacket in a 4 and the pants one size larger 6.
