we have a member here strictlygixxer72 who is also 5'2 who rides a 07 gsxr 600. She does find it a little tall. You're only 90 pounds??? good god!!! I would suggest starting on something smaller, like a 250 as you are learning. The gsxr600 will still be there after you learned the basics.
Have you taken the MSF course yet??

Definitely take the MSF, and get the basics mastered (not just learned) on something smaller before you jump on a 600 or larger. Once you get your riding skills mastered, you'll be able to judge for yourself (by sitting on different bikes) which ones you can handle.

First of all welcome to SBN!

I have to agree with everyone else. At 90 pounds I would be very surprised if the weight of the bike alone didn't make it more difficult for you. Once you understand how a motorcycle works, moving to that gixxer will be so easy. I fear if you jump in on the gixxer it will make the learning curve more difficult than it needs to be.

Starter bikes are just that, starters. Pick one that if/when it falls to the ground you are not devestated. When you get a pretty bike as a first bike, you are more worried about damaging it than learning how to ride it. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

getting a bigger bike is also risky because of the power. you'll be too worried about the power the bike has and wont' be learning to ride properly. plus, starter bikes are much much more forgiving if you make a mistake while riding. jump on a supersport and a little mistake can have a big consequence.

good luck in your endeavors
