Default How to change my directionals

I am slowely fixing up my bike, and am now working on change my dookie directionals to nice flushmounts. I found a pair on ebay that I liked (carbon fiber look), but how do I know they will fit? And if I do buy them, how do I replace them with the stock blinkers? They come off easy, so is it just wiring that I need to deal with? Any help is great!

Here they are: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawas...photoh osting

Usually those things come with the mounting hardware, which is pretty straightforward to install. As for wiring, they should clip right into your existing signal harness, so you unplug your old ones and plug the new ones into the harness. The only thing is as it says is, you might have to do a bit of modifying. That could mean dremelling out your existing fairing holes a little bit to accommodate the new flushies, or new connectors for the wiring. Either way, it's a fairly simple procedure and isn't hard to do. The only other alternative is to order something you know will fit, and all you have to do is slap them in there and away you go. The universal fit jobber parts can sometimes be interesting to match up.

Be aware that you WILL be drilling holes into your fairings to mount these. They are not really flush mounts. They are fine directionals, my hubby had the same ones. I just want you to be aware that you will have to drill holes into the fairings. Which is why I went with Watsen designs...alot more expensive, but way prettier and no drilling.

Ahh thanks for the pictures! I don't mind spending a little extra money for something that I do not have to modify my bike for. Your husband's are nice (the size)- are they the same ones that you have, just a closer picture?

*giggles* Is that a dragon you have strapped to the back of your bike? What was that for, a toy run?

hahaha..yeah. When we went to the gap last year, a friend of ours could not attend. So Wiley, the coyotee dragon, came along in her place. I did a huge story with it....it was funny.

Thanks Kat! Unfortunately my hubby sold his this spring. My directionals are completely different from what he had on his. His were like the one SVmom has on hers.

I like the bigger ones that are more noticable (like SV's) and do not stick out further than my damn frame sliders. Where is the gap at? I hear about it a lot- im guessing out West?

The Gap is in Tennesse and North Carolina.

636 specific directionals should be easy to find, bolt in with no wiring adapter hassles.

You don't notice them when they are not blinking! My LED's are so bright oncoming traffic gives way during the high noon sun! It's all good. Just wanted you to know you'd have to drill...

Ha very true Whatever lights I have to get without drilling are the winners - no matter how small. Thanks
