Well with a solid 3 pages of the same answer, when someone says "I don't know if it's been said or not...", there's only one or two possibilites...
1. They either didn't bother to read even one or two replies before hitting the "Post" button.
Or,
2. They did read the threads, and found the answer. Then in an attempt to appear smart, posted the same answer with the "Don't know if it's already been said" disclaimer.
Generally if they go to the effort to put in the disclaimer though, the latter is the case. Neither of them really brings anything to the table, and both are an insult to the inteligence of everybody who reads it.
Kind of like you didn't bother to read my request to stay on topic in this thread. You have done absolutely nothing to contribute to it except to complain about the genuine efforts of others.

The first time I dumped my R1, I was sooo pissed and the adrenaline was flowing (plus a burned leg, busted knee, and cut shin, didn't help) I picked the bike up like it was a bicycle. It never even stopped running.
The second time, when it rolled away from me down my back yard, I didn't have the adrenaline rush and I tried the "backwards grip" using my legs and it wasn't difficult at all.
That's probably the best method to keep from straining or pulling something.
Good Thread Gals!!

I, ah, was away for awhile because there were some strange posts.
Anyway. I have not made any pictures, yet. Sorry. I'll get to it. Honest. But I am a professional procrastinator.
I watch racers pick up their bikes like this:
Facing the bike on down side.
A. One hand on handlebar end. Wheel straight or turned toward you.
B. Other hand underneath tank on the frame or body work near the engine.
C. Extreme bent legs. Arms between legs.
D. Chest close to bike.
E. Drive with legs toward chest.
There is very little lifting with the arms. Only at the beginning. The rest is leaning into the bike. And pushing with the legs.
I am doing tons of track time, so perhaps I'll get some shots soon. (Hopefully not of me after an oops.)

There are ALWAYS strange posts. There will always be strange posts. Then there is me. *coughs, then hides the cattle prodder down her pants*
Yeeeah...I agree with your technique Clevis. I've used both, and they are equally as effective. And that's coming from a vertically challenged chick who had to apply it to an '84 HD Police Special. They do work!!

I dont seem to have an issue getting my bike up. I did something stupid today and discovered this. freshly washed and waxed I went to put the bike away, stepped in a hole the dog dug and i and the bike went over. Being in deep sand the grip on the feet was less than Ideal. I grabbed my Fz6 and just kinda dead lifted it an pulled it up (using knees of course). No adrenaline here - just a muttled disgruntled sigh.
