Default Are These Boots Safe???

With the holiday season approaching it's no wonder I am frequently browsing new gear. I was wondering though... are the Icon Bombshell boots safe?

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...t--610202.html

They sure are hot, and while probably not the most practical, what do you think about them for casual street riding? Is it even possible to ride in heels that high?

What makes a boot safe? I am assuming ankle protection & padding, no laces, not so bulky you can't feel what you are doing, comfort so you aren't distracted etc...

crap ...i read too fast, & i could have sworn the title said "are these boobs straight"

anyway...IMO the look too much like something an umbrella girl would wear (no offense), as opposed to something that you would wear while actually riding

granted i hvae no experience with these, so just my $.02

Ugh....looks like they were designed by a porno-obsessed engineer with a leather fetish. Just the fact that they put your feet in the same position as "fuck me" stilletos make them impractical in my mind. Those CAN'T be comfortable.

All the Icon gear looks like it is designed by 19 year-old boys, for teenage poseurs.

Those really don't look like they would be very practical for riding. The protection on them sounds ok but I really don't think you'd very comfortable in them. Just know when you go out people really aren't paying attention to your feet

Haha no offense taken! See I like them in general - dunno if it would be a good idea riding in them...but I love tacky stuff! Anything pink, sparkly, or otherwise obnoxious and barfy. It must be my background as an accountant that forces me to get out of the boring/low-key stuff.

I like you women because you are honest...and usually right! They do look like some 19 yr old dude designed them!

I just wonder how legit they are...maybe they come with a warning like "Caution: do not ride motorcycles when wearing boots"!

Usually they're just drooling over a hot chick that's on a bike.

But... if you're gonna be walking around and don't wanna wear your bike boots you can always wear a backpack, toss shoes, sweater, or whatever in it. Then when you get where you're going toss your gear in that.

But if you're just out riding...I wouldn't worry about it.

why would you want to ride in heels?? That makes no sense to me... My own opinion is if you cant buy it and use it on the track than it must not be but soo safe...and I KNOW you cant use those....Just save the money and get some Alpinstars! Who cares about if they are "cute" or not!

WTF? You are kidding me right? You may get caught dead in them, but not me. No offense, but motorcycle gear is 95% safety, and 5% style, at least it should be, as far as what is good for you...and when you can find both, it's pure harmony.

I wouldn't wear them. I keep thinking what would happen to your ankles if you suddenly had to put a lot of pressure one or both of them and your feet were in that extended position. Probably wouldn't be pretty, but it would be painful.

Those boots are HOT!! They are safe and meant for riding. They have the thick leather with padding for your ankles. Sneakers would be alot worse....no ankle protection!!! I have been riding about 3 years now and feel alot safer and protected with leather riding boots. So unless you go buy SIDI racing boots for the street ....I say those rock

Bullshit....a girl in a nice tight one-piece leather tracksuit is sexy as hell. So it's more than 5% style. I've followed enough around the track to know. I just say I'm getting lapped for the view...

That being said, those boots eliminate the need for aftermarket rearsets...they look about what, 4" up and 1" back???

Seriously, the leather and "true" riding boots combo are more appealing. If you're just looking for higher leather boots that are decently affordable, a pair of Doc Martens with steel in the toes can look downright stylish if paired right. Doesn't help the ankles, but it at least gives you some lower protection.

http://www.motorcycletoystore.com/sp...oot/p_464.html

$170 + shipping.

An extra $30 will get you a DECENT pair of Sidi Strato Evo Airs (http://www.newenough.com/sidi_strada...oots_page.htm). Another $20 gets you into the B2 style raceboot.

These Oxtars offer the protection you might be looking for, and will double as starter track boots....and are cheaper than the ICON "Trinity" boots. http://www.newenough.com/oxtar_ss_pe...boots_page.htm
