Ladies, I just tried the icon field armor once size only leg/knee guards and while they did the job I'm wondering what other brands you are wearing and maybe they'll have a better fit.
any recommendations? I looked at the alpinestars bionic but its only for the knee. i like that the icons are from knee to ankle pretty much on me. i'm 5'2.
Looks like it's armor to wear under jeans for street riding. I just did a quick google and saw that Icon has leg armor & armor shorts too, for wearing under jeans. I guess it's an alternative to wearing leathers.
Christina, I've not tried any of these products, so I can't advise. Maybe some of the other ladies can help out.
then for the ladies who don't ALWAYS wear leather pants....if not wearing leather, what DO you wear and what do you wear underneath?
I admit it, when I'm not wearing my leather pants, I just wear jeans, my alpinestars riding boots, a leather jacket & gloves. I've heard good things about Icon's Kneedraggin jeans, which are just reinforced denim, but have to be better than fashion jeans.
To be honest, when I checked google after your first post, I became kind of interested in the armor shorts. I might pick up a pair of those. The rest of the armor seems like a good idea if you don't want to wear leather. Anything that offers more protection is a plus.
When it's cold out I wear tights or stockings under my jeans. However, since I just got my leathers a few months ago, I never had them to wear in cold weather before. I'll probably start wearing my leathers with yoga pants or long underwear underneath when the weather turns cold again.
Do any of you ladies know of any other company besides ICON that makes reinforced jeans for women? I like the idea.. hot days, but still want protection. But i wouldn't mind some other options if they're out there.
