My hat's off to you ladies that ride. This year I have seen more women with their own bikes than ever before.
While a couple are hot girls using the bike more as a fashion accessory than to ride- I am honestly impressed with the lady riders I meet.
Several times now I have had an entire group of male, stunter boys that think they are hot shit DECLINE to take any road with twists in it to get somewhere. But on many occasions females mount up and go for the ride.
I see guys stand next to their bikes for hours happy to pose, while women riders say fuck it and just take off to actually RIDE their bikes.
And all but one or two of the ladies I know with bikes are far more interested in actually learning how to ride with skill and speed. I know girls in their first year of bike ownership with more trackdays than most guys have...ever.
The women seem to want to ride a sportbike as it was intended- fast and smooth. The guys all seem to buy whatever they can afford so they can run out and do wheelies. You know, so you ladies get damp at the very thought.......
So in all seriousness- my respect and admiration to you ladies. This year- I can honestly say that if I want to really ride, ride hard, ride far, or beyond the city limits, I know to ask the WOMEN and not poser boy with his untouched 12 o clock bar.
It's squid haven down here. I wish there were more women in Orlando who ride sportbikes. But at least the ones I do know are serious about it, and want to learn to do it right, as you said.

Gee, that's a nice post! Thanks! Although I've only had my bike since June, I am madly in love with this riding thing! It's funny how everything revolves around you being able to get a ride in somehow during the day. I hope to do a track day or two next year.
I can't stand these guys that buy a bike just to get on the throttle and scare the crap out of you with no respect for the bike. Any man that's under a helmet and can truly rides the pants off a bike with actual skill and technique - is hot on my book!
I got that definition. I just have a feeling that it entails a few more things. Like one thread, a guy was asking how to wheelie his zzr. Another guy referred to him as a squid.
Would that be using squid in the right context?

Okay...that doesn't work....really....that beg's the question does it not? I am not going there...sorry count backwards (don't remove shoe's) 10..9..8..7..etc.
I bought a bike to commute on (just bought it) and yes I could afford it. And, in the Fall/Winter months I'll be pony-ing up for a track bike. It is not the bike but the rider that makes this such a good community of folks.

This sounds odd...You are comparing WOMEN to a boy...does this sound right. Boys by definition are im-mature (I should know). Start looking for men to ride with. We would gladly take you up on it.
And, yes it is great to see all of you lady's riding. It does my heart good.
Otherwise nice post.

No...not at all. Look at it from a bigger picture. Not as a one size fits all situation.
...in general, acts like he/she doesn't know what they're doing...

I know I'm a newbie, and my question is probably as newb as they come. But what is a squid? I'm really not this dumb.
My definition of a squid is an irresponsible rider who makes the rest of us look bad, whether through reckless riding, the inability to dress properly or just plain stupidity regarding motorcycling in general.

Nice and succinct. Wouldn't expect anything less from you AC
