Teej, 36, married, I've lived within 5 miles of my current location pretty much my whole life.
I used to be a single-malt scotch guy but lately I've grown quite attached to good tequilas. I find them much tastier than whiskey/whisky of any kind...although I'd never turn down a good single malt. Also somewhat of a beer geek and homebrewer.
Also been into skydiving and a few other things along the way.

Sportbike: why doesn't it smell like a new car?
hello - i'll give this a shot before I go out for the evening
my parent given name is Serik and I was originally born in kazakhstan but my parents moved us around eastern europe quite a bit during the 80s. I remember staying in Kiev and Minsk for a while, but wwe eventually moved to London in 92 where my father was eventually taken under government captivity for to this day I do not know what - we have not seen him since. My mother and sistaer and I ended up attemptng to go to the US in 94 and ended up in oregon. I moved out after high school and have not seen my family since, but am doing great thus far in WI. I hope to find my family in the future when I have the available resources to do so.
I like this place thus far and most people are very nice, thanks

Mike.... Milwaukee area. Lived in Wisconsin for most of my life... with some tours in Chicago, Houston, and Tulsa. I finished high school and moved to Chicago for Automotive design and performance... basicly a building/engineering/component based performance school for racing. I ended up passing a great deal the was offered to me.... so here I am now. I currently work for Quad graphics, as the printing industry seems to be a little less stressful than where I came from. Things that interest me include: Racing, skiing (snow and water) fishing, and vacations.
Things that bug me: People that dont tip for good service, people that over tip for bad service, friends that arent friends, and rain. I hate rain.
So, thats me.

Damn Mark, I haven't seen you post this much since they took down the general forum on MSB (back up, but not the same ole')...minus that Christmas list of bike items you posted. Hopefully we'll meet on a ride this summer if I can get my ass in gear.
I've met a few of you in person, and hope to meet a few more this year. I promised a pool party this summer, and I'm thinking late June / early July (between summer semesters) for those interested in a ride to Janesville.
Name: Zack (initials are ZZZ, hence the handle)
Occupation: Product / Process engineer with a powdered metal company in Janesville. Basically, I play in a sandbox filled with multi-million dollar equipment. Fun! I worked in the tool & die industry prior (since I was 15), so I guess I'm a machinist with a degree. I work too much according to my family and friends, and am about a third of the way through my MBA at UWW.
Background, likes, dislikes, & other BS: Grew up in Pittsburgh, went to college in Virginia (go Hokies), moved back to Pgh. for work, then ended up getting an offer up here three years later. So here I am in WI. Obviously I love riding, and hope to see a few of you at the track or on a group ride or two this summer. I haven't decided if I'll be hitting PTT or NESBA events yet. Although NESBA's nicer with the weekend trackdays. I used to bodybuild religiously, but work hours and school have cut in, so I'm on the extended "maintain" phase. Other than that, I own a house in Janesville which consumes far too much of my money and free time, thus my track days will be limited.
Scotch is nice, as is bourbon, but I'm more of a wine geek. I spent many a weekend touring wineries in VA, upstate NY, etc., so I guess it's a hobby. I love a good debate, and will argue just about anything with anybody. I'm a libertarian by nature, so that pretty much puts me at odds with most liberals and religious right wingers up here. I used to be a voracious reader, but again, don't have as much time as before. My current interests gravitate towards middle eastern / asian history, culture, and politics.
Hmm, what else can I bore ya'all with? I have happy feet, so I like to travel. My ultimate goal is to spend a few years working abroad and seeing a bit more of the world. I guess being single has its advantages. I can't say that I have my dream job yet, but I'm working towards finding it. That and a second bike along the way.
Moses - let's make this a "Sticky" and request people's first post be here...
"Murf" - Todd Murray
I grew up in Brookfield, High School at Brookfield East. I went to UWM on a swim scholarship and graduated in 2002 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Upon graduation, I went to work at HUSCO International (and, yes, I can get you a electrohydraulic, pressure compensated, proportional hydraulic control valve for free!!!) as a System Controls and Simulation Engineer, an interesting position reporting directly to the coorperate VP of Engineering. A year later, I took a more traditional role as a Design Engineer in one of the most technically progressive group in the company. I'm interested in taking a 3-year position in England, if for nothing else than to get out of the area for a while. Anyway, 'nuf about work...
I swam from age 9 to 22. Full time, up to 6 hours a day in the summer (3.5 in the morning, hour weights, 1.5 hour afternoons), year round (save August). I never had any real succsess at it... I won a couple of Division 2 state championships in High School, but I only won one race in NCAA, and only finished top 8 in confrence 3 times - never higher than 6th. I've always had a love-hate relationship with the sport. I enjoyed the friends and the competition, but hated the swimming. I also feel the sacrafices I'd made in time (and resulting impact on my studies at UWM) didn't return itself in terms of results or money. Because of this love-hate relationship, I really haven't taken up a serious fitness program since I stopped swimming. I tried a few times with some half-hearted crap, but structured workout simply seems to piss me off. Agian, enough of that.
Sorry for the long-windedness of this post, I'm typing it as I watch F1 qualifying for Silverstone.
I've loved motor-things since I could crap in a toilet (actually, before if I remember right). Cars since age 12, when I first went to the Milwaukee Mile for an IndyCar (remember that?) race. I did a bunch of autocrossing during college 2000/20001 C Stock/E Stock regional champ), 2 years of kart racing (badly, finished second of 21 in an endurance race once - using somebody elses kart), then got into bike trackdays. Motorcycle track riding represents the optimal combination (to me) of mechanical preperation, cerebrial lucidity, curage, athletecism, skill, and outright courage. No recing yet, though I'm sure it'd be more intense. I know I keep blowing smoke up everyone's ass about it, but I keep finding excuses not to race, so mybe I really don't want to??
I enjoy the purity of riding bikes fast.
I actually enjoy the Wisconsin weather. I kinda enjoy ot riding over the winter in an abscence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder type way. Besides, it gives my finances a chance to catch up and an excuse to travel south! I've taken up skiing the past two winters (thanks Lynda) and that really helps. So yeah, winter's fine, as long as there is snow. This 35* and sloppy shit has to go.
I have very high standards for myself, lesser so to others. Perhaps my biggest dislike is people with a poorly tuned sense of self critisism. Sometimes my standards of myself and others results in negativity and disapointment - but I don't consider myself, at all, a negatively thinking person.
Sometimes I am extrememly impatient (I hate waiting idley), but I often bang my head agianst the wall with trying to make things work (ahem - clapped out ZX7). I hate giving up!
I really like SBN Wisconsin because, well - Brian (RavenR1) said it best... Like minded people, encouraging good safe riding practices, smart people, like to bullshit, and quite a few people I can trust riding elbow-to-elbow with. Cheers to you all, you make a great group of friends. Before SBN - I hadn't a local group of like minded sportbike enthusiasts to hang out with. You guys and gals are a phenominal group of friends!
Okay, other stuff:
Likes: Bikes (duh!), girls, skiing, coffee, gin, dark beer, anything technical or mechanical, chess...
Dislikes: Dishonest or two-faced people, exsessive risk without reward, people who try to be smart but are not, talking about feelings, riding motorcycles slow (turn 2 at Autobahn North), sinking snowmobiles, becoming ill at trackdays, and riding with shagged tires.
Bikes owned:
1989 Kawasaki Ninja 600R (8/01-2/02) - Garbage, barely ran - was Ninja 450R when I started.
1998 Honda CBR 600 F3 (2/02-2/04) - Best all-round bike I've ever owned, should never have sold it.
2003 Aprilia RSV-R (2/04-end of the world) - My favorite bike, maybe ever. Lots better than people give it credit. I learned how to ride fast on this bike - now have to relearn on a "normal" bike. Best track bike I've riden yet. Expensive to run, though, and I imagine even moreso to crash...
1994 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7 (7/04-10/05) - Because I hadn't had my fill of shitbox Kawasakis, I bought the 48k mile wonder for change. Got taken. A year, many hours, and many dollars later, "The Widowmaker" was turned into quite a good bike. Handled with the best of them. Went with... erm... did I mention it handled? Sold to a guy at work who totaled it (and almost him) within a month. Shame.
2005 Honda CBR600RR (9/05-???) - New track bike. Should pay for itself with one crash. Garbage on stock suspension, better on the worked stuff. Light, compact, but kinda steril. Reminded me how much I love the I-4 shreek.
Okay - Alanso just got the pole. I have things to see and people to do. Thanks to anybody who actually read this all.
Work: ASQ (American Society for Quality) I'm the Senior Networking-Systems Bastard
(Ryan you work RIGHT across the street from me dude. We're gonna have to hook up for lunch)
Education: I's be educated at UW-Milwaukee - Comp Sci long ago... Cj- don't worry I took the multi year plan in collage as well, (well except I was a slacker for a while...)
Likes: Track days, karate, woodsball paintball, (yes I like hunting people - more lively targets ) my family, friends and my pooch
Dislikes: Inatentive cagers, 18 wheeler cagers, soccer mom minivan cagers (seeing a theme here?), my dog's ass - for a 30 lb beagle she sure puts out swamp gas more like a Great Dane I swear.
And for good measure: a pic from a year ago with my youngest niece. (she was real interested in the Mike's Hard Lemonade) and the pooch.

Are you one of the Blue Flame project guys (if I got the name correct)? If so, it's a small world. I think I make a few parts for one of the assemblies.
