Default So I went ..

So , I went to try and get myself another bike today ... It was a 2003 , 600 RR , I figure I would drop $3,000 down on a 7K bike (Brand New) , lets put it this way ... I need a co-signer !! Even if I gave em 5000 It didn't seem to matter , I guess I wont be rideing again till Spring / Early Summer ! But then again , its no fun rideing in the snow !!

Not on a bike at least! That's BS, hopefully they won't pull the same crap in spring.

Good luck in your decesion making (or are you going Honda for sure?)

I'm confused on why that kind of downpayment wouldn't seal the deal. Where did you go? Maybe I'm the wrong person to be asking, never needed a bike loan, but I would've thought that much of a downpayment would be enuf...30% + of price.

Kind of reminds me of when I bought a Gateway computer (stop laughing!) a few years ago. The computer cost $2200, and I was going to put down $1500 and finance the rest. But the bastards wouldn't let me finance for the rest without a co-signer. Words cannot express how pissed I got at the sales chick.

You start out motorcycling with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

I didn't have the heart to say this in my post above, but I was thinking the same thing.

Again, I don't know where you went, but you might want to give Lake Country Powersports (I know they have a couple left in each color...Shalynn will hate you for buying a 600RR...after riding mine, she hates me) and Chicago Cycle Center both a call.

Yeah, bad credit/no credit can keep you from doing so many things, it sucks that people who don't pay their bills have to make it hard as hell for the rest of us to get a small simple loan.

What's wrong with gateways? I had one and the only complaint I had was that it used the mini-case, and you couldn't expand the system at all

The lack of credit thing is like a catch 22 though. You need credit to get credit and without it you can't get what you want. In other words, to get a credit card you need to have established credit. To get financed you need excellent credit. But none of this will happen if you can't get accepted anywhere. I have excellent credit, 2 credit cards, 1 student and 1 capital 1, I pay them off in full everytime I get my bills. Even though I've been doing that with my cards since March I still won't get financed anywhere. I've tried.
