OK who else has to wait in excess of 45 seconds for...This freakin website to respond.....it is gettin mighty old i was just wondering if its just me.....anyone else having a problem?? im on T-1 at work and DSL at home and its the same either way......i have double posted because it took SOOOO long i got sick of waiting and hit "submit reply" 50 times to get it to move....GRRRRR it just makes me wonder if im the only one, i find it hard to believe when i can click on 3 other forums i visit and its INSTANT!! weak man just plain weak sorry for the rant its too damn early for this shit
that eats, oh well i have no problems on other forums and they had a bigger member online count at the time of the incident....it just dont make sence that this is the only one.....and its a GOOD forum....thats why i get upset about it......i mean if this were some dumbass forum where i rarely posted i wouldnt give a shit if it went fast or not....maybe its time to look into more bandwidth?? i mean we had a discussion like this before and Fred assured us that there was ample bandwidth for pictures videos etc....well it seems as if thats not the case.

Its a off and on thing. I think its server load related possibly. Bandwidth wise Fred is doing fine. I worked on a forum 4 times bigger than SBN (98,000 users - 11,000+ online at once record... SBNs peak is around 1200 peeps at once) for several years and they went from a 10mbit line to a 100mbit and as far as page loads went it still took forever just downloading videos was much quicker. SBN doesnt do video downloading so my guess is it's server related. Either DB or CPU power... I have no idea as to the server specs here so its a guess.
I have done trace route to SBN and found no slow hops on my rout at least. Thats my guess. Could be wrong since I dont know what Fred is doing other than SBN... He could be a Net Porn King!! LOL
A friend I played Half Life with on his server was a Porn Giant (owned TGP porn) and we never had a clue!! When he put a ad up for free videos we began lagging badly and he told me in a email LMAO

Trace complete.
Sometimes the pages load in a fraction of a second, other times I cant even get it up at all and get page not found. The trace is just showing "at that time" doesnt ruel out a intermittant prob...
KH is right on. I have EXCELLENT latency to the server. It's just that when you have a server that's having to handle 400+ open sockets, and sort info to send to each, the CPU can get bogged down pretty easily--ESPECIALLY when you throw a database into the mix. Sadly the hardware that's actually MADE for that sort of stuff (read: Sun) is ungodly expensive.

Exactly guys.
Sun or a equilivant AMD 64 (cant recall the new server cpu) or a quad xenon P4 (5mb cache ) servers are in the 20,000+ range easy.... you still need racks of drives the list goes on and on.....
