I haven't ridden the new new Thruxton, but having sat on previous models the riding position is fairly extreme. Gaolee, another forum member, has ridden one but I don't recall his impressions. For what it's worth, were I to buy one of Triumph's retros I'd probably go with the Scrambler or a straight up Bonnie. The Thruxton, to me, just doesn't make a lot of sense. It's very cool looking, but to deal with those ergos and not have the performance of even a Honda F4...... But, to each their own. Aesthetics can be an end unto themselves.

the bars on the 09 Thruxton are much less extreme... not a bad looking bike.

Triumph Thruxton
The big change is the inclusino of flat bars over clip-ons. Power is 69bhp, there are bar-end mirrors, megaphone exhausts, spoked wheels (18” front) and two color schemes: red with a white stripe down the middle, or black with a gold stripe.

the fact that it's fuel injected (but looks like carbs) is kind of cool.
