Default Modding a TBird

I've an early 98 Thunderbird. I've sorted out the brakes and upgraded the suspension.

Now for the engine. I intend to fit a set of Keihins in place of the Mikuni carbs-they give better mpg. Also, a K&N airfilter (+7 BHP).

Now, I could drop a 885 speed triple camshaft straight in. Does anyone know if this will need rejetting of the carbs. Anyone done this? The total increase in BHP should be up to 97BHP.

you're going for more HP but you're putting the Keihins on?
yeah, they get better gas mileage, but the Mikuni's will give you a bigger / better wallop.

keihins not rejettabe IIRC

no idea on the cam shaft swap.

Got some ideas off Triumphrat-before I got totally banned (see GeneralPig posts).

Essentially, I am after a mix of better mpg-the Mikunis give me less than 40, and extra horse. I need to tour as well!

For the present-Hagon shock, new forks + springs, other extras. Straight through pipes.

Next-K&N filter.

Perhaps-Keihins. So much better MPG-that's the touring bit.

As for cams-too complex right now. Tho a friend has put a 1200 into a TBird...

the guys at Triumph Rat.net are a bunch of tight-assed wankers (generally)
although the T3 section was generally pretty laid-back

so... I had a look & I couldn't see any reason to ban you (unless they scrubbed your posts). It wasn't that twat cafetbird you had a run-in with was it? If so, I feel your pain, I had an issue with him over saying RAT in New England is shite!
