I just bought this bike and I cant figure out why it keeps dying on me. It seems like its when it gets hot, and the fan dosent come on. It only seems to do it in traffic during the day, the temp is usualy around 220 when it cuts off. It will start right up, there's no idiot lights??... and sometimes the fan clicks on and other times it does'nt.... so Im lost I dont know if its made to cut off if the fan is not running over 220 or do I have a short... or if I just have a bad switch or something... please help.
Generally these bikes run on the warmer side...mine runs right around 190 - 210 on a summer, 220 when sitting, but my fan always clicks on at 200 and stays on. Sounds like you might have a short somewhere.
Paging KevinWilly! KevinWilly to the thread please!

Check the fuse box under the seat, the fuse for the fan/lights/ecu ect all hide under there in a sealed box.

Sounds like a short in the fan lead, maybe a fuse trying to go out.

Check out TriumphRat.Net
I am sure your gonna find an answer from them gurus.
Check your grounds. Maybe you have a loose wire someplace. Does the fan run when the key is in the "on" position and engine off?
On my TT600 if its hot 205F the fan turns on if key is in on position and engine is off.
Really.. Good to know thanks.
I will check them out. I just joined the other site. My triumph has been garaged for 5 years now. I wanted to get it back on the road so I joined them to ask some questions. I am newbie there still with a couple of posts.
